TODAY

Hey, I'm Mané, a designer based in LA. I've worked with Adobe, Samsung, and been a Founding Designer for Kardder and StudyFetch. I recently graduated from UCLA with Psychology (Cognitive Science focus) and minor in Digital Humanities, which basically means I care a lot about how people think, feel, and move through the world.

THE JOURNEY

I grew up in Armenia in what was essentially my dad’s art studio (our balcony). He was a mechanical engineer and wood carver. My mom was an engineer. My grandma was a seamstress. So I was raised around makers and problem solvers, and I was already too observant and too curious not to become one of them.

Discovering product design felt like meeting someone you feel like you've always known, it's everything I already was, or wanted to be: intentional, strategic, devoted to understanding.

THE GOAL

I went to visit my childhood home 6 years ago, and everything was the same as when we left, including the piece of wood with our apartment number on our entrance door. My dad carved it. I asked him why, and his answer was the exact reason I'm a designer. He you told me "everything that exists has been designed, one way or another". I realized that this was my goal, to make sure the things that exist because of me, exist with intention.

SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

oh btw, my logo is just my favorite thing to draw on things, since I was maybe 3.
